I used to be within one degree of the "student protest movement", and even showed up for one dreary gathering downtown inspired by Stockwell Day, but I'm a bit far removed from it all now. Still, probably some of you reading this will know some people or some people who know some people who are planning to head down to NYC in the next few days to "take democracy to the streets", or some such, whatever that means.
Please, please, please, sneak some GHB into their drinks, and lock them up in a closet, or something. Or, perhaps a little more productively, convince them that they should goddamn well stay home, and get them to convince some other people, lest they get mad, act out, and re-elect George Bush.
And if you were planning to go yourself, please don't.
