I will have a new system ready to test drive: Laptop, external CRT for the singers, 15,000 songs. Not to mention an external USB drive for the original cd+g library consisting of 2,500 songs. I'll be working on software test runs and doing a complete list merge and export that won't require any typing on my part (I'm afraid I'll have to retire the duotangs for the songlists...we're into binders now).

Christian vs. Your Eardrums *LIST NOW UPDATED*

Hey, so I was reminded last night that the slack shack gig is in 1.5 weeks, that is the evening of Saturday, March 4th. They need dinner music for the raclette, hence I'll supply the karaoke gear, 2000+ songs (da funk) and Bob will provide the sound system (da noise). It worked out great last time and if I can dig out the cables, we can probably mix in a dvd player.

Anyhow, if anybody has any song requests, just comment or email me. I probably won't have time to do any custom tracks, but check out www.dbkaraoke.com and click on "advanced search" and type in the artist or song title that you're thinking of (this will tell you if that particular song is available in the karaoke world, in which case there's an 80% chance I can find it). DBKaraoke is not exhaustive, so it might still be available if you don't find it there.

The list is still available here, but is a little out of date. I'll update it by monday. There'll be some new soul, old school R&B and a beastie boys flood.

Karaoke Update

Tentatively, how does Saturday, the 24th of September sound for a karaoke party? Depending on the response, I might put out a request for another venue (my place could be cramped). The Slack Shack was well received last time and none of the locals were too traumatized by "Liar"...so this is good.

For those who like to prepare and/or need ideas for how to get one's karaoke groove on, the current list of songs I can provide for the slack shack shindig is here.

Duplicates and incredibly cheesy recent pop that noone would want to cover will likely be deleted. In addition, there are requests in the works such as Rollins Band, Beck and Le Tigre.

I've just been told we are having our House Warming Party for "The Slack Shack" this Friday the 11th of Feb.

As many of you know, (all of you?) I recently caused some well meant but drunkenly reasoned havoc at a Clubhouse shin dig. So, without further ado, here's a chance to come rip it up at my place. Ah how quickly the tables turn. lol
