as a final huzzah before my entrance into old age, I'd like everyone to join me next sunday, june 24, at peking restaurant, noonish elevenish (to accomodate owen), for a feast of chineefoo.

New fun!

Yesterday I went dragon boating with my work. It was as much fun as I expected (I really do enjoy being on the water) and it looks like my company is putting together a corporate team for the Alcan Dragon Boat Festival. I asked to join, let's see if they let me.

You kids know me, I am a wimp and a half! But my team came in second and for first timers, our team was at the upper novice, lower recreational team times. It was wicked awesome totally cool fun.


And now, to the point: Dragon Zone, for the month of May, on Sundays has $2 lessons at 2pm (all equipment included!). I'm going to leave Chinee foo at 1pm on the dot to make sure I can get into this. I'm going to try to make it out every weekend (it's a great deal compared to the season rates they charge), and if there is enough interest from Clubhousers, we might be able to even get a recreational team going. How awesome* would that be!?

So, I'm getting to Chinee Foo at 11:45am and ordering the tofu, the green onion cakes, & mushroom fried rice. Anyone interested in dragon boating on Sunday with me is more than welcome to come. If you can't make it this weekend, and you're interested in going later this month, give me a holla'! I'm also going to set up a Clubhouse series of events on facebook.

As part of my Human Computer Interaction course, I'm conducting a study on password entry and management techniques. Virtually anyone who has ever registered for an account online (including email, bank, blog, etc...) is eligible. If you can spare an hour of your time between tomorrow (Sunday) and the 25th of November, please comment or give me a call. The experiment can be conducted anywhere (not necessarily at UBC) as I just need to run an automated tool on my laptop.

I should run 3-4 subjects myself, I already have one...we'll discuss compensation...beer, food, a crash course in something...

TURKEY DAY! (No singing...)

I had a great idea...a number of clubhousers may not be having Thanksgiving dinner with family this weekend. I'm one because of the slackasses in Port Alice who haven't offered my Dad a job yet (long story, will tell).

As an alternative, I thought of throwing one for anybody in the same boat (but ALL are welcome). So I'm taking a Turkey over to Scott PM's place and cooking it there!

Okay, we're just going to ignore the fact that I actually moved in back in June.

Notes: 1) Come early if you want raclette (cooler version of fondue), since we'll only be doing it from 6 - 8pm cause I want to drink and don't want to be in charge of scalding cheese thing when I'm drunk. And bring your own cheese (firmer, smelly cheeses work best, but just bring what you like. Swiss, Guyere & smoked Gouda are particularly tasty). 2) Despite multiple conversations with my building manager, the buzzer to my apartment still doesn't work, so you'll either have to call me once you get there if you have a cellphone, or come around the back and yell. Apparently one of the buzzers does buzz into my apartment, just not #5. If you're feeling adventurous you can go ahead and buzz a bunch of apartments until you get me, just make sure you note which one actually got my attention. p.s. Brendan, I'm kidding.

There will be lots of yummy food. You are in charge of your own drinks. Bring your friends (don't worry, there's lots of room).

we'll be arriving saturday morning, leaving sunday night. lunch both days are covered, as is dinner sunday. we will begin accepting bids for our spare free time immediately. anything coo happening?

so i'm officically moving into lindsay's place on 18th and columbia. most likely i'll be moving on the 1st. if anyone can help that would be greatly appreciated. like mariko's move, smaller stuff in the day, bigger stuff when my brother gets off work. as thai away is within walking distance, dinner shall be provided for those who help.

This Sunday instead of basking in the cancerous heat stroke giving Summer sun how's about you come to our place to welcome, feed and help accommodate Brendan (me too!) in his new home. The boy has an apartment's worth of stuff in his bedroom that has gots to be merged with the current space. So anyone with a generous interior design genius with food is even more welcome than those coming to give Brendan hugs....hugs.
