Den of Sin Schedule for July

Monday July 4 - In Sound From Way Out: Alternative Musicals

7pm: Yes Nurse, No Nurse [2002] - Bizarro Dutch musical based on a cult children's program from the '60's.

9pm: The American Astronaut [2001] - Zero budget, black and white, sci-fi country musical conceived by and starring San Fran underground band The Billy Nayer Show.

Monday July 11 - Classic Horror

7pm: The Amityville Horror [1979] - The original haunted house movie. Not to be confused with the new version starring the ab-tastic Ryan Reynolds (hmmm, Ryan Reynolds...)

9pm: The Omen [1976] - I did it for you Damien.

Monday July 18 - American Dreaming

7pm: Zabriskie Point [1970] - Portrait of '60's America as filtered through the lense of Michaelangelo Antonioni.

9pm: Medium Cool [1969] - Verite style pic about a womanizing TV cameraman (Robert Forester at his sexy best) who becomes unwittingly involved in the turbulent counter-culture scene. Notable for using actual footage of the riots during the 1968 Democratic convention and for receiving an X rating when originally released (don't ask me why because I've seen it and I couldn't tell you).

Monday July 25 - How the West Was Fun

7pm: Cat Ballou [1965] - Western musical starring Jane Fonda, Lee Marvin and Nat King Cole. One of my all time favourites.

9pm: My Name Is Nobody [1973] - Compelling comedy that also functions as a great satire of Westerns (particularly the Spaghetti kind). A young, energetic gun fighter (Terence Hill) competes with an old gunfighter (Henry Fonda) who just wants to retire. A must for Western fans.
