Next Week at the Den of Sin

Hey Kids,

We're really back and this Tuesday (I have another screening to attend on Monday) prepare for a full on assault. See, ever since we got hitched everyone's been on our case to have kids. Right now. I think it's starting to get to BJ as he keeps chasing me around the house with a condom and a pin. Being that I have absolutely no intention of bearing his hell-spawn anytime soon I've had to take matters into my own hands. And so I present:

Tuesday May 31, 2005: Baby Paranoia

7pm: The Suckling [1990]: A young woman not quite ready for children goes to get a back-alley abortion, only to have her mutant fetus attack her, her boyfriend and everyone else in the clinic. No really.

9pm: It's Alive! [1974]: Larry Cohen's ("Q the Winged Serpent", "God Told Me To") film about a monster baby that kills when it's scared. And babies scare easy.

Please RSVP if you can. Pop fund will be in effect and if you'd like something other than Pepsi please let me know. Otherwise we'll see you there.

Reclamations...

And the post some of you have been dreading...

As I'm finally moving into my own apartment again (the first of two or more I will occupy over the summer, damn it), I have much need of furnishings, kitchen gear, etc.

Gimme!

I'll be moving into Briana's old apartment around the 1st, so I'll be needing to reclaim such minor things as my bed, lamps, bike, the all-important rice cooker (preferably without Bob clinging madly to it and shrieking like a banshee) and just about everything else I outsourced. Sadly, Corinne and Grae, this may include the TV, though I'll confirm that in a few days.

We'll figure out actual transportation arrangements in the coming days...

THE REVENGE OF THE DEN OF SIN!!!

Howdy all we're back and now back to weekly (or until we get sick of you all). We think this week's selections are very appropriate after a long absence.

MAY 23/05

JAPANESE LADIES RAMPAGE!

7PM FEMALE CONVICT SCORPION: JAILHOUSE 41 - The first sequel in the FEMALE CONVICT SCORPION series, our favorite women in prison series. Those have seen the first one can expect director SHUNYA ITO to take this film even farther into surrealism. Well here's the IMDB write-up (cause I'm lazy); Matsu, known to the prisoners as Scorpian, is locked away in the bowels of the prison as revenge for disrupting the smooth operation of the prison and for her disfiguring attack on the warden. Granted a one day reprieve due to the visit of a dignitary, she takes advantage and attacks the warden again. This leads to more brutal punishment and humiliation. But the punishment gives her an oppurtunity to escape along with six other female prisoners. Their surreal flight from prison pits the convicts against the guards, the warden and each other.

9PM SUKEBAN GUERILLA - Female bikers! Catfights! Gang violence! Sukeban Guerilla expands on classic exploitation "bad girl" archetypes with an explosive abandon. Fans of Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! and Switchblade Sisters should brace themselves for the be-all, end-all and show-all of what's possible in the realms of grindhouse girls gone way-past-wild.

"Making fuss, fuss, fuss"

Hrm, was there any interest in a road trip for this?

MELT BANANA

Non-sensical Japanese punk with torturous american covers and bizarre road trip stories.

$10US, 2 blocks from Seattle U @ Pike and Broadway.

Just wondering if there's enough interest that I should twist my boss' arm for the day off...

A new feature!

I thought that we should include a forum onto this fine website. It's been requested, so I got a free one. The link is on the right hand side under all the people.

HAPPY CINCO DE MAYO EVERYONE!

Would a visit to PONCHOS be in order this Saturday?

Being on Denman, it is in close proximity to Stanley Park and the beach...frisbee, football, bocce before/after?

Oh My God! It has our Name on it!

"And I quote, "Clubhouse Restaurant is a great place to meet friends for a large, casual group dinner."

Clubhouse Restaurant

I think it'd be worth a try and it says great "for a large, casual group dinner"!

Is 7 weeks enough notice?

Saturday June 18th is the next Clubhouse party. It is scheduled to coincide with Commercial Drive Day the following morning.

Haven't thought much around this one or even themes, but the Clubhouse should have a party for Paul before he leaves again.
